Many thanks, Jerry for including "Pioneer Village" in your feature section. This was indeed an experiment with a brush and brown ink!

Nancy -- makes me weightless, I'm flying! This is a wonderful creation! L/F
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
This was so fun to do. Ink is probably the best thing I do. If I could just stay with one medium....but ah, so much else gets in the way.

good mind, good art i think your composition is great
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Oh, so nice to have this comment from a new person who just dropped in! I took lots of Chinese brush painting lessons from a really good teacher and they never sketch....just go right in with the ink. It's daring and fun! So happy you liked it!

F/L Fabulous work, Nancy. The way you command the ink to do your bidding - amazing! Who knew brown ink had so many possibilities:>)
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
That's the Chinese brush painting training doing tricks. It's such fun to make a line of trees.... with the tip of a brush, etc. I'm so happy you liked it. It's play at the highest level....there's no going back and no correction possible. The composition emerges.

Jaw-droppingly awesome!! This is brilliant Nancy. Love it!! F/L T G
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I've been thinking again about my family who started out in W.Va. on a Patrick Henry land grant. The ancestral farm is now Watters Smith Memorial State Park and there was no village. Their farm was 25 miles away from the nearest neighbor and the Indians were not happy with the settlers. You'll love this history, Lianne, especially the connection with Jackson's Mill which was only four miles away from my home town, Weston.

Gorgeous drawing, Nancy! LF
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thank you Klara. I was so surprised to find the tiny houses and to imagine this as a small settlement out in the forest.
