I do the same. If you haven't tried it, find shelled sunflower seeds. You'll get a wider variety of birds. Believe it or not, we even get Eastern Bluebirds at our feeder!!! Also, the no-shell seeds don't germinate as easily as the standard … so unless you like tiny sunflowers growing up under your feeders, that's a plus, too. You may think it's more expensive, but it's really not. You'll be getting more usable product … no shell … and more real food for your birdies!!
