I indeed have a green and a red Japanese maple. One on each side of the house. We didn't plant them...but I've really enjoyed them so much!! I think I have photographs of them on FAA.

Gouache is a very mysterious substance...both opaque and translucent....especially when photographed with macro settings. I just love these effects.
