This image now exists only as a photograph. My cat saw it blowing slightly in the breeze of the fan and well.....Glad you like it!

Thank you so much, Deyanira. This was painted on very thin Chinese paper and I'm grateful I photographed it!

Maybe for you this would be quick....might take me some time to achieve this beauty! Lovely work, Nancy!...fav/v4
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Did you read the comment just above this one...This is preserved in photo only!! My fault for taping it to the wall very low....and it was on tissue.

This was done with a brush in one go on very thin almost tissue paper...and guess whose cat just put a hole in the face??? Oh, well, I have the lovely photograph and I can always order up on from FAA. Funny, no?

gorgeous portrait! It has a classical quality while showing an absolutely modern sensibility as well! v/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thank you Maria. I should have described this better. It is a copy of a painting done by Rembrandt Peale in 1820...I sketched it very quickly with a Chinese brush when I was at the height of practicing this method every day. I couldn't repeat this feat today....but was personally amazed at what I was able to do.
