Description
This graceful and heavenly perfumed flower is a relative of the genus Magnolia. A native to the Himalayan region of northern India and southern China, it is famous for its fragrance and used to make perfume. It was in my back yard when we lived near
Pasadena and its shape was as distinctive as its wonderful aroma.

Nancy, I must admit, I don't think I've ever seen this flower until now. This is a splendid image....so delightful. Would love to see thsi "in person" and enjoy the fragrance as well. F/V

This was a full grown tree and I climbed part way up to photograph these flowers. You didn't need to go that far to enjoy the perfume!

I know they use this blossom in perfumes, but the naked scent is so wondrous....I miss this tree very much as I now live far away in St. Louis.
