I'm In the Ceremony

Medium
Sculpture - Paper Sculpture On Painting
Description
I love to invent a paper person and have the small sculpture surrounded by an abstraction of colors, the entire scene so imaginary that somehow it makes it's own logic. And this little figure has been on this small stage waiting her entrance for almost one year.

Wonderful! It looks like it could be an ancient Japanese ritual of some sort. Love it.
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I think I just invented a costume and maybe even a religion. It's definitely a ceremony!!!

Nancy, this is such a unique work of art! I love the concept, as described; even before I read it, the title told me how to perceive this beautiful ceremony of color and form. There is something about the word itself that has always captivated me! l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Elizabeth. I have a friend who is becoming a Buddhist monk and we've been to her center and participated in services. I'm always attuned to costume and ceremony....the place it fills in our lives.
