Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Anne-Elizabeth. I copied a Frederick Remington ....trying to learn how to draw horses which are tricky.

I love sketches and drawings and this is great! Love the mood, too! v/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I need to establish a "practice" of morning sketching. It's really a fountain of inspiration. Thanks, Lenore for all of your good words.

V/F I picked this one because of the sense of joy and freedom and indomitable spirit I felt:>)
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
My daughter rode ponies and horses in LA and I was what's known as a "barn mother". Great job, because I loved horses even more than she did!

Sense of powerful motion and speed beautifully captured here, Nancy! vf

Horses are tough to draw. I tried to learn how by copying the masters....and Remington certainly is one of them....Thank you for the comment!

Wheee! That's a wild ride! Remington was one of my mother's fav. artists! v.f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
My daughter rode and jumped ponies and then horses so I was the official "barn mother". I really wanted to be able to paint horses but I only got this far and a few watercolors. Still, it is wonderful to appreciate those who were the masters of this genre. Thanks, Debbie.
