Description
Our bird feeder with full squirrel protection was finally dismantled by our squirrels. Sadly I haven't found a great replacement but various candidates were tried this winter. I'm still in the hunt as spring arrives and our yard seems to be providing all meals and snacks. We have nesting robins in the nice downspout of our gutters and soon the chirping of newbies will be just above my head outside my office window. Tweet and Twitter!

Just wonderful, often I think of Chinese brush painting when I see your work, like this one, all done in minimal strokes, fabulous FAV
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Somehow the birds feel alive when I paint them quickly...without looking at a photo or even choosing a species. You have to know, I love birds, have feeders and nests, collect feathers and spend hours watching them!! Thanks, Nancy.

I'm watching the new baby robins out of the nest now, learning to fly and find their own food. They are under our plants and in low trees. So sweet!

F/L. This is a lovely time of year for birds. What a sweet painting (as are all your paintings!)
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Just had my first hummer of the season...out playing with my garden hose spray as I hand watered the back lawn and pine tree. Every time I venture OUT I am rewarded!!

Wow, Nancy! This is great! Your work is so unique. Nobody I know paints like you; you definitely have your own style while at the same time always progressing and experimenting. You are fabulous!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Birds are so inspirational. I spent last summer photographing hummingbirds and yellow finches...all visitors to my patio zinnias! Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Maggie!

What a graceful and delightful artwork, Nancy...simply wonderful :) referring to your description...squirrels have eaten the bark of our cherry and plum young trees...eaten magnolia buds..not to mention your experience with the bird feeder lol the same thing here..they are so insistent on destroying everything lol fav
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks for visiting my spring bird. Note that I have never painted a squirrel....but lots of birds!
