I was looking for some black paper and found a large tablet of colored pastel papers with several black pages. I had begun this painting years ago....just the internal spiral. And then, using my new gouache friend, voila....a new style...old mixed with new. It was a nice surprise for me too.

I was surprised at how this turned out...using black paper and the gouache just soaked in a bit and then became transparent in interesting ways.
