Description
Having a life long love for felines it's a wonder I haven't painted more of them. Well, I have. And most of them are for my pleasure and not for sharing. Reviewing that decision and having to find a title for them has revealed some interesting facts about cats that I'd love to pass on. One is the big tail...the way a cat will try to scare off an opponent by making himself look HUGE. Even after leaving the "ring" the tail tells the story. And maybe it was big because he was indeed scared. And not tough at all. I know my cats...and think this is true!

Wonderful work, I can not help but think of Chinese pen and ink brush painting, but you have a very authentic flair to your own work FAV/L

Many thanks, Nancy. We lived mostly in LA and then Pasadena, raising the kids there. I took courses in botanical art and then Chinese brush painting, a select course from a master artist, Dr. Frank Chiu. What a change this has made on my style and work!!! Amazing. I have adapted my skills to my own ideas...but am humble from my training. I learned from copying!

Thanks, Angela ...My great love for animals started as a child. ..always cats but a pet rabbit too....and then my grandmother's canary, our parakeet years later...the family dog. Ah, the stories, the memories! Love trying to paint them!

I painted this one several years ago...when I was working daily at the craft. Time to begin again....!!
