There is nothing more delightful than discovering violets in your yard or garden! Such a charming wildflower. I have several popping up now also. LF

Just found your nice comment. The violets are now "over" and my iris are up and soggy with the rain. Onward we march into summer....!

A sweet memory from my childhood also, always called the wild violets. L/F

Nancy, this is so refreshing and luscious. Love the colors and the way you have photographed this riot of violets. So precious and gorgeous. Thank you sincerely for all of your kind and gracious comments. Smile and blessings to YOU. LF

Thanks so much, Anne-Elizabeth. Violets are indeed my favorite flower. Add clover too, as we made garlands for our head and knew just how to twist their stems! Oh, I miss those perfect days from my childhood. My yard is filled with violets this spring. Every year a new gift.

I so love violets - for me they are the true marker of spring's arrival. And they have lovely memories for me - the song, "Sweet Violets" was one of the few records my grandparents owned and I played it over and over, knew it by heart. And then I'd pick violets for my mother too. For me, they speak of family and home and love and you've captured them so perfectly. There are so many symbolic meanings - from love to mourning, faithfulness, and humility! Nancy!! F/L TG

My mother had flowers she cultivated all around our house. If I named them you would be surprised at how many there were, especially her prized rose garden. But I went to all the spots I knew by heart and gathered violets for her....every spring of my childhood! They were wild...and I was too.
