Description
This month's entry of cottage roses photography and manipulated with Picasa special effects brought to mind my earlier hand painted roses, each one crowded into the flat space of the paper, each a small delight of form and color. I loved being in this painting...and stayed there the whole day. There were many versions of it photographed and shared, each rose flowing from memory and imagination, no real models used in this fantasy. Hope you enjoy my fun! Beautiful Nancy! So innovative and full of nature"s abundance. Wish I could study technics with you)
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I would love that, Nikki. Since I have no models or photos, only imagination and memory I think I go right to patterns on the paper. And balancing, a practice I learned from Chinese landscapes. So odd how we make our own rules.

Breathtaking, Nancy!! You are so good at this type of insight and expressing what you see. LF++
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I work small and quickly, all from imagination...but really memory of form because I have been around roses since childhood. My mother loved to grow this flower (and many more) and was also an artist, painting many roses in oil and pastel!
