Description
The adventures of an orange umbrella, about to embark on a transatlantic crossing, at the dock at night. This is so autobiographical -- my first trip to Europe I traveled alone aboard the Leonardo Davinci liner from NYC to Genoa with stops in Palma, Majorica and Casablanca. I was 23 years old and courageous!

Oh, that trip of yours must have been fantastic!! Such an adventure!! And this image is so creative and wonderful!!!! Love it!!! :)))vf
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
It was a fantasy. I stayed in Europe for six months...knowing (and it is true) that I would not have that opportunity again.

Your technique blending 2D and 3D images is really cool. I remember my first ocean voyage too, from NYC to Bremerhaven, Germany. I was 18. There were ten thousand more soldiers jammed in as well. The ship took in water all the way and sank when we got to Bremerhaven. I'm glad your experience was better than mine. My wife doesn't understand why I won't go on a cruise. l, f, WHAT?
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Well, the food on those cruise ships can make you sick now. I can still taste those Italian soups served with grated cheeses....Goodness you were lucky to make shore! More adventures will be coming up! Summer is a good time for travel.....

Sheer masterpiece, Nancy, and a standing ovation from this Austin Gal! Bravo! Fav'd, liked.
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
This was a large (very large) painting on tin from my husband's collection which was going to auction. I had to hurry to "get on board" before it sailed!

Nancy, this is gorgeous painting! And great description too! F&L
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Well, it isn't my painting! This is a mixed media piece which means I made the paper sculpture, set it up in front of a ocean liner poster, got the lighting just right and created a "scene". I feel like a movie producer!!! Quite fun actually and it should make a nice card for someone about to take a trip. !!
