A mixed media painting I made for a class I attended at the St. Louis Art Guild several years ago. It was my first introduction to collage and many fascinating techniques which have come into vogue since last I took art classes. What fun!

Nancy, I feel that you have created an artwork about me! All my loves are here! My daughter asked me the other night what I would have in my dream room...I would have my dad's drafting table, an easel, art supplies, a stand up desk with computer and photography set-up ... and of course, lots of windows....artists have that 'thing' inside....makes you feel alive when you are creating SOMETHING! That's what this says to me! I feel it!.....vf!!!

I did this three years ago and I was just exploring color after so many years doing only pen and ink. It feels like so long ago -- I have had an amazing art journey since then.

You're on to my secret! For those who might suspect that artists could be children who refused to give up childhood ...well, I loved paperdolls, embroidery, weaving pot holders, knitting, crocheting, sewing, pouring plaster of paris into rubber molds, setting type with little rubber letters....designing clothes for dolls. And watching my mother paint --oils and pastels. Thanks, Carol. I'm sharing your fun as well!
