All your paintings are full of energy, which makes me think you work very fast as well. Lovely gift!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
After years of traditional painting (i.e. my magnolia watercolors) I learned Chinese brush techniques. One loads the brush with multiple colors and in one stroke (held at just the right angle) the artist can create a total dimensional object...leaf, flower petal etc.). One needs to be decisive and work "fast". Hope you enjoy these experiments!!

Intuitive...yes, indeed - for me also intuition plays a huge part....lovely, wonderful pieces!!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I paint with acrylics and glazes using the side of a credit card. This allows me to move the paint around and literally to compose an image. I never know where it's going...but I'm learning some control as I go forward with landscapes.

I saw a lovely movie with Emily Blunt about a dam in a desert. Hard to say where images come from....
