Artist's Description
"the Blues", by Nancy Kane Chapman, is a digital portrait of a woman in lovely colors of olive green and blue with black surround. The overall structure of her face is represented by a quilt like surface of calligraphic lines, circles and tightly formed geometry.

I love how no single part of this would look like part of a face by itself. But magically all grouped together it becomes one. Really cool stuff! L/F
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I studied cartooning (copying New Yorker artists) for several years. And then there's all of that geometry I love. So happy you like this!!! It was very fun to do.

The colors are perfect Nancy. The feeling of sadness and darkness is powerful. Marvelous work! I love this style! l/f!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, dear Meg. I'm realizing that I can change colors which like the other tricks of this program is like learning how to paint all over again.
