These marvelous shapes of gorgeous jewel-tone colors draw the eye in and around the painting. It is mesmerizing. LF

I was so unaware of the bird motif....until it stared me in the face. Sometimes that happens when I'm just enjoying color and shapes.

Gorgeous colors and marvelous style Nancy! It has a stained glass feel? And I love your inspiration! l/f!

Artist's Description

Our family had a beautiful turquoise parakeet named Perriwinkle. We nicknamed him "Perr" and I swear he could say his name...or maybe he thought that's who we were. With unclipped wings, he enjoyed full flight in the kid's bedrooms. He lived through the LA earthquake with his cage on the kitchen floor. He is still missed and remembered and I was unaware that he was embedded in my abstract art, little Perry, big Perry...he's all over the page. Such a wonderful experience to share love with a bird.

First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings. Picasa effects allow me to...
