I love doing very large but tightly woven pen and ink drawings and lately I've begun
to color them and also play about with computer techniques to enhance their punch.
I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. Lovely Pattern......
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks so much, Iris for your visit. This one is an ink drawing I do free hand...and then color....again by hand. At the end I process the image through Picasa for some extra effects.

Wow Nancy, I see a myriad of sailboats. Beautifully colored sailboats cruising along at their own pace. Dear lady, you have an exceptionally creative mind and proof is in "Memories of the Regatta". The coveted "Sails in the Wind" gold cup is all yours, hope you have room in your trophy case. l.v.f.
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Plenty of room in my case. And I actually did crew in one regatta....not at sea, just on the Potomac River on a day with little wind. Not real exciting...but I've made my own race here.
