Description
Looking like French nuns in habits, these beautiful wildflowers caught my eye as I walked in our neighborhood. We do have many home gardeners and I don't need to go to a park to find wonderful subjects for photography! The columbine is originally from Asia but migrated over the Bering strait to Alaska 10,000 to 40,000 years ago. I love this kind of plant "fact".

This photograph seems other worldly to me, its soft hazy light almost an elegy. Thanks, I'ina for this new consideration!

Just revisiting, and noticed your reply about Columbine. How apropos that your art piece reflects such purity in its white 'clothes' and grace. Indeed, a great tribute to those whose souls traveled back to Creator on that fateful day. Isn't it great when we allow our intuition to guide us, and then finding the true impact of the work.

Thanks, Deborah. I just revisited this very street and hillside and now there are four tight bundles of this flower, two pink ones! I'll post soon!

It is a Columbine.
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
This knowledge gives me such pause and sadness because I think Columbine just had its 10th anniversary of the tragedy there....and the Columbine is Colorado's state flower. I feel now like this is in memory of...

This looks like it belongs in a Renaissance tapestry....or perhaps another planet. You are right...it's exotic. I'm waiting for someone to tell me what it is!
