Description
"A Distant View" by Nancy Kane Chapman is another in my series of imaginary hilltops and
seascapes. This one is a play on lovely gray greens with black and orange. White waves or
snow engulf the natural structures.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I'm skirting with realism but clearly not even using photos for reference. I'm trying for poetic nature ....now there's a new category.

Nancy, the perspective and composition of this painting are terrific! I Iove the colors, too; the entire scene is very inviting. Love this work! l/f

Amazing what you have included in this abstract...snowy peaks, sharpdrop cliffs, icy waves and even the snow flakes! F/L
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
My abstract landscapes are very intuitive, pushing paint about (sometimes with the edge of a credit card) until it becomes something. It emerges. Many of these paintings are macro portions of a larger landscape. So the camera is part of my process as well. I'm always amazed at what has been created and really enjoy the art form I have "invented".

I feel like I am standing on the tallest peak and looking down at the neighboring ones. Great painting! L/F

This is beautiful Nancy! l/f!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
These mountains definitely return for extra screen time. Can't "lose" them.
