Wonderful color and very impressive, Nancy! L&F

The first time I have painted in oils for ...years. I only liked a small portion of the larger piece and so I harvested that and here it is. What a mess and so many bad smells from the turpentine. Very different from our beloved watercolor!!

Nancy, I love the vibrant warm colors you have used here! it is full of energy and beauty...with a wonderful effect of light!...fv
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I'm still remembering painting this in oils (the first one in years) this summer on the patio. What a mess and only a small portion really worked so I photo'd that part and then used some computer "color" to help bring out the image. What a job!!! I think I'm back to watercolors, acrylics and gouache....with lots of ink drawings in the mix.

Am hoping to have time to explore oils! I've really skirted the issue for years....and I'm getting curious at last. Thanks for all of your good words!!

I got out my old oils....turps, linseed oil....oh, what a mess I made outside on the patio! I'll try again though....I need more patience. This small corner was the only "keeper".
