St. Louis offers lots of water and water birds, hosting big rivers, lots of parks with lakes, ponds, both natural and man made and more birds than you'd imagine winter here, summer here...stay here all year because the weather is not that severe. So here's my salute to our water birds...a digital work by Nancy Kane Chapman.

The computer (Paint program with cloning tool) in Windows 7 allows me to compose with the mouse...moving bits around and actually "drawing" the picture. It's quick and fun!!!!

Actually it's not the computer's blue. I painted this over a painting which I painted with gouache so it really my blue.

Thanks, Jolanta. There's a great Audubon Center nearby with rows of binoculars for good viewing of the migrations which land here every season.
