Description
A wonderful frankincense tree with peeling bark and grand green leaves was a stand out in the cactus garden. Once a part of biblical text, the gift of the Magi, this valued resin used in incense and perfumes also found it way into Judism, Buddhism and even used in Egypt for mummy creation. Now it is still with us as essential oils and aromatherapy, alleviate stress or anxiety or perhaps burning in homes to kill bacteria in the air. From Somalia and the Arabian Peninsula.

I always try to visit botanical gardens when we travel. Each one seems to hold a secret, something new to me, a once in a lifetime meetup! This little frankincense tree was sheer magic!! Thanks Deborah.

Many thanks, Zsanan. This photo was taken on a Christmas trip to San Antonio, Texas in a wonderful botanical garden. Being with family made it even more beautiful!
