This is one of my favorite paintings of yours, and love the backstory, the violet will always be a favorite flower for me due to my mother's love for them. LF

So nice to receive this comment, Angela. Those flowers take me back to childhood every time I see them!

It's so funny, Nancy, I could have written every word of your description . . . but I couldn't have painted it as well as you have here! Lovely!. . . .f/l

I wonder...are these the same violets sold 50 years ago...or have they been "altered"? Surely they should be an easy grow indoor plant! Thanks, Karen!

Just love this!!! I love violets too, had one that lived many years, but after it died no more luck with them for me either. LF

They used to be a hearty plant....these new ones, even with careful watering just disappoint. But so pretty...those furry leaves, too.

After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings.
