"Toys on Parade" is a playful arrangement of colors in space, of circles and triangles tumbling through a black ground, establishing an order, stacking, and floating. An abstract painting by Nancy Kane Chapman produced by Windows 7 Paint program.
I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. Nancy, this is such a unique painting in an interesting new series! I love the subject, the vibrant colors, the black background. So imaginative! l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I have always loved pen and ink drawing and now to take this love to the computer and be able to instantly color the shapes...with mechanical inking....well, I can't resist seeing where this will lead.
Karen Adams
Oh my goodness, I am in love with this series! The cheerful colors just pop off the black background . . . like maybe in a circus! Love it!......vf
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Oh, I'm so happy you found these fun also. I just loved playing with this new toy....at Christmas....which is all about new toys too!!

Love the vibrant fun whimsical style! Fantastic Nancy! fl
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
These were so fun to do. I had only tried "Paint" one or two times and not really very satisfied with the result. It takes getting used to drawing with the mouse!
Angela Davies
Such fun, and a great series of works! FL
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
The coloring of these is so quick and I just found myself doing one after another!
Sarah Loft

Toys for Christmas. That's my excuse!!!

Fabulous whimsy, Nancy! I have done some of this in the past and now I want to revisit this approach, which reminds me so much of Miro. Excellent creative work! FL and tw!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Certainly a fun thing to do. The instant color is tricky...but a challenge. Wish I could mix up some nicer colors though.
Meg Shearer
This made me smile. Whimsical and wonderful and beautifully done! I love it! l/f!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I was hoping that this would be the response. Kinda like opening gifts under the tree. A surprise!
William Tasker
I really like this! Fun, colorful and somehow orderly in a chaotic way. L/F
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
That's what I thought too. I bet I will get better control of the "tool" after I'm mastered drawing with the mouse.
