Beautiful, Nancy. You have caught the mood and the vastness of the space the buiding rests in. Great light. LF

Many thanks I'ina. When it snows (and it did last week) this hill becomes a sled riders dream. We were there to watch and I'll post some of the fun tomorrow!

Wow this is magnificent!!! What a phenomenal building and so perfectly situated. Lovely perspective Nancy. F/L

The St. Louis Art Museum was constructed in 1904 as the Palace of Fine Arts for the 1904 World's Fair. It's amazing, free to the public with some very beautiful art (Monet, Van Gogh, Sargent....) and a new wing for contemporary art just completed. Below this hill is a lake with fountains. It feels very European with its huge statue of St. Louis out front. I was happy to arrive just at the right moment for great afternoon light!

I love the expansive feeling in this photo. Beautiful image.

It was simply a marvelous day and the afternoon light created these streaks on the lawn.

I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings. Picasa effects allow me to...
