Nancy, I have been absent for ages and just trying to re connect for a short while with my artist friends. I did not realize what a huge amount of images you now have, not far off 2,000 ! Could not imagine getting to such a number! I did not know where to go but the colors here drew me, and what a wondrous image this is! I see it's a photo, but it's just like a painting and is utterly lovely. I'm spellbound! I think it's the simplicity of the strikingly simple amber sky, green and graceful foliage and misty indigo blues ! Adore this ! You are so clever in that you can produce such a variety of fascinating work !

Jane, it is wonderful to have this word from you. I have always painted small and even then I project my images bigger using a macro lens. I yearned to "go big" and finally this year succeeding in making a quite large Chinese garden with my brushes. 92 inches long. Lots of my friends saluted me. The photography continues to delight me and I am able now to change them to something painterly. Finally, the kids have left the "nest"...I have plenty of time to see where art will lead me. And I'm a bit embarrassed with how many images I have created, but there's no stopping me!!! Maybe I'm an illustrator and not an artist (but don't tell FAA). I love your work...just noticed you sold one of them but it was too late to comment. Congratulations..!!!

Lovely scene, wonderful processing! LF

I've never tried anything so severe in the "processing" of trees. I was pleased with this bit of computer impressionism.

Nancy, I LOVE what you did with this image! The sky is radiant! The colors give this such a magical feel!....fv

I was amazed at the changes one can make with Picasa. You can continue to add effects until you nearly lose the photo entirely. I was amazed.

Gorgeous colors and textures! Magnificent landscape Nancy! l/f!

I am so in love with nature! My parents were also...so this has been a lifetime of admiration. I'm just discovering the joy of altering photos to reveal more of the essence and beauty of all that I love.

Absolutely gorgeous capture with a peaceful atmosphere, dear Nancy !!!! (F/L)

I love this stretch of water....a small inlet, part of the big river but more like a lake. So happy you liked my Picasa editing!

Mother Nature

Mother Nature

F/L You've made it even lovelier than it is in real life - how wonderful to have a place like this!

I took some photos of trumpeter swans here one year. This visit was so quiet, almost no birds....so the trees were the stars!

About Nancy Kane Chapman

Nancy Kane Chapman

I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings. Picasa effects allow me to...
