A surreal transformation of the Rocky Mountains!
I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. Very beautiful Nancy... the reversed colours give a feeling of fragility of earth...which of course is true unfortunately l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I don't know photoshop and usually my photos are fairly as is. I'm just exploring Picasa and so it was a shock to see this image. I found it to be so surprising I had to share this and a few more aerial views because I felt they offered a new look at nature. Perhaps mountains and snow caps have become too familiar and we don't really "look" anymore.

Wonderful color and forms !!!!!! Great shot. L/F
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I was so surprised when I reversed the color and saw that golden sky and a mountain with black snow caps. It's a very spiritual view of earth.

Love, love this! Fabulous! Instant v/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Anyone for black snow caps? I think we're so used to the shapes we don't look closely anymore. This provides a second chance to see the beauty.....or so I think!
