Revisiting, Nancy. One of my favorites. I can feel the 'kimono' gently whispering and settling as the figure sits. LF

When you revisit, I get to go there again too! How nice, I'ina. It's time for a new tea ceremony. I have umbrellas in all colors!!

My sister and brother-in-law in Dallas actually had a tea ceremony with a lovely couple they met. Dressed in full robes and great formality they loved this wonderful occasion. Thanks, I'ina for this visit!

Gorgeous, Nancy, with the perfect background color to set off those of the 'figure'. I see a graceful Geisha bending at the knees to sit down and offer a tea ceremony. LF+++

Wonderful painting and the colors are great!

This isn't a painting....it's a paper sculpture I made and then photographed. I have a gallery full of these "inventions".

The dress is the liner from an African violet plant which finally just gave up on me. Just so you'll know I'm not really a dress designer....although.....maybe....so small...

About Nancy Kane Chapman

Nancy Kane Chapman

I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings. Picasa effects allow me to...
