Description
I'm a dreamer of family, my own relatives and my childhood. And now my children and their childhoods. We have spread out, choosing new homes and states and reunions are scarce, but wonderful. Usually we can pull two or three together but never everyone. This gathering, this walk toward "home" seems to be symbolic of the return to some mythical home base. A longing.

Have just returned from ten days in LA visiting my sister and my daughter. I'm barely home and miss them already. And that's just half of our small family. So difficult to bridge the miles!

Many thanks, Yolanda for choosing to feature "Walking Home" in Dancing the Walls. This one is very special to me and I love having it share a space in your feature section. It's such an honor!

This is so beautiful, Nancy. Love all the details of people climbing and a dog. It seems like an uphill task!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks so very much, Uma. This is all imaginary....very fun to paint with the computer using a gouache landscape for starters!

Nancy, the theme of this marvelous work of art is so deeply meaningful; I love your description and everything about this archetypal digital painting! Kudos to you for developing yet another technique that allows you to express your fabulous concepts! l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Many thanks, Elizabeth for your nice visits and comments. Composing art on the computer has been quite a surprise and delight. I've only completed a dozen or so images, but they were some of most imaginative. I'm going to proceed in discovery!!

Fantastic work Nancy :) Lovely tones!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I'm teaching myself to paint with the computer....digital art....hard to believe I'd choose it. I use the Paint program in Windows 7 and use the cloning tool to move pieces of texture around and "draw" a scene and now figures. It's very exciting!

I love the figures and the tones and the patterns and textures! This is beautiful Nancy! l/f!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
One figure leads to another....and soon I'm adding children and babies and extra destinations for the journey. And a dog.

Beautiful work Nancy! Looking forward to your description. I sense peace of family/community together supporting each other and moving close to a desired destination...ah home. Love the color palette and scene!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Lori. I get the feeling of reunion.....and I always hunger for that because my children and my brother and sisters all live in other cities. Thanks for visiting and commenting!
