Description
Even as I get older and older the child I once was is still very much with me, sharing my journey and delighting in my new adventures. This is a new self portrait and honestly I've never looked this young...or this good. Nice to have art skills! Enhanced by the computer, too.

Wonderful Nancy.. lovely looseness that adds to the portrait;s aliveness... very nice!

I'm overwhelmed at the responses I have received. So many lovely artists...so talented and so generous and supportive. I am so happy every day, and wide eyed to enjoy all of the work my artist friends are producing. Your latest offerings....the best!!!

I can see you here, it is wonderful to still have your inner child along; a precious moment when she appears, LF Lovely work!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Actually I think the practice of art keeps that inner child alive....and down in my "studio"...basement...I still have a set of the original crayons I loved as a child. I use them even now.

Such a beautiful self-portrait, Nancy! Kudos! I love the line quality in the arms and how well everything works together. And I could get lost in that gaze! LF and tw
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks Lynda.....it's tricky drawing with the mouse and I really need to find a new program which includes a stylus and learn how to enter the digital world with some knowledge. We'll see how I go forward...I need to take a class and buy new software...ugh!

Such a beautiful portrait, Nancy! Isn't it wonderful to still feel so young inside! I love your choices of color and composition so much...but the thing I love most is the personality you have conveyed in that wistful yet confident expression! I think you have really captured YOU! Wonderful!....vf
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Oh, thanks for this praise, Karen. Art is such joy for me ...so maybe that's where my wistful confidence comes from...!!

Beautiful work Nancy! I love your technique and style, and love this beautiful self portrait! l/f!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
This was fun to do and with the cloning tool one can "erase" a stroke and try again. Try that with watercolor!
I'ina Van Lawick
Gorgeous portrait, Nancy, reflecting who you are in that moment. Lovely textures to enhance the feeling you wanted to express. LF
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, I'ina. I'm seeing if I can "edit" portraits with the computer...and I can, but I did "airbrush" my look so it's not me anymore. Except maybe the eyes.

It was so fun to draw but tricky with that big mouse. I'm sure there are other ways...to do digital.
