Many thanks Lyric for this feature of my "San Gabriel Mountains" in Bedroom Art Gallery. This painting was one of the very few plein air watercolors I created and thus is special to me. So appreciate this new showcase!

Out in the back patio with paints and eyes....trying to catch the rare view of snow on the San Gabriel mountains. Usually smog would obscure them. Thanks, I'ina.

I moved so quickly to botanical art....those magnolias. I'm sorry now I didn't try plein air with the same intensity. Thanks for your good comments, I'ina. You are an inspiration!!

Nancy this is so beautiful … so magical. Painted from your patio … what a view!!!! You must have had a blast working on this beauty!!!! I can feel your joy!!! lf t p fb

I am so happy to have this warm and wonderful comment, Lois. You are so right....this was a joy! Especially since these very mountains ...with snow...were prime destinations for my snowboarder teens....and I was the chauffeur and ski mom! There were icy roads at times, so my Volvo and I had our work cut out for us!! So many memories!! Thanks for the fb and lf t, too!

Splendid! The spruce trees really highlight the landscape!

It was a once and hope I get the feeling moment! The smog totally covers these mountains and to see them white with snow....so amazing I painted it. Outside and no prep sketches. So happy for you visit and comment, Michael!! Hope your holidays will be wonderful!.

So pleased to have a print sale 30" x 20" of my plein air watercolor painting to a buyer in Atlanta, Georgia. This was a rare moment, the first snows on the San Gabriels and no smog so that they were in clear view!! I hope the print is a good one and that it will be a joy to own! Thank you!

beautiful, moody, expressive painting! love it! L/F

Thank you so much Bonnie. My son and friends snowboarded on these mountains and I remember the trek up to the lodge. The roads could be quite dangerous when icy! Whew!

Thanks so very much Lenore for this feature in Old MASTERS - Painters and Traditional Arts. I can still remember painting this rare and unusual clear day with a great view of the snow covered mountains. It's one of my favorite paintings!

Many thanks, Stefano for this feature in 10 Plus. It is wonderful to have a new showing for some works I posted several years ago....paintings that found an audience then, but may be lost over time. So appreciate this group!

This is a wonderfuol series Nancy. This one feels like base camp, where it begins. Very nice. But I love your abstractions, or micro closeup s. also.

What a great comment, Chana! The idea of a base camp (realism) before the journey into imaginary mountains and abstraction. That's the most lovely description of my art! Thank you so much!!

Oh Nancy, it is so sad to know so much natural beauty could be hidden by man made smog. Your painting is magnificent my dear and you certainly earn the gold for this gorgeous work of art,,,l.v.f....awesome

This indeed was a rare view. I understand that there is smog at the Grand Canyon....so it's not just California. Your comments mean so much to me. Thanks, Dave.
