Nancy, I love the drama of this painting, with its depiction of sea peril, feverish strokes, and perfect choice of colors! And this work is included in a fabulous gallery! l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Many thanks, Elizabeth for this nice comment and for visiting the gallery too. I so appreciate your response!

Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I paint from my imagination but this looks like I might have tapped into a Turner painting!! Thanks, Lois.

Many thanks, John for featuring "Peril" in Images That Excite You. I must say, a storm at sea would do it....I'm always busy with brush painting and this one popped up unplanned. I did like the drama of it and what it has to say for the power of nature and the oceans. I'm honored to be featured and have this extra showcase!

This is so scary even if it is imaginary! Terrifying, powerful work!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I love working with gouache and using my brush freely. This narrative was totally accidental but I thought it was powerful!
Sarah Loft
Wonderful like an end of the world nightmare. I would hate to be the guy in the tiny canoe (lower center). Fantastic piece.
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Sarah. With all of this unpredictable and record breaking weather it's not so unreal. I was not even imagining this outcome as I painted. I did add the mast to the boat once I saw it.
Meg Shearer
I love the drama and power of this! Very exciting and powerful work! l/f!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks so much, Meg. I edited the little boat to provide a mast...the rest was just there.

Wow, Nancy, this must be what it's like to fall off the top of the world...very dramatic......fv...VIVA
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Sometimes this feels like the world....and how dangerous it all is to face nature when it gets out of bounds.
