A very skilled portrait of an appealing person! Your affection for him is manifest here. l/f

Many thanks, Dorothy. I worked very hard with several teachers to learn portrait work....and did most of them in pencil and ink. And a few watercolors. My dream is to try one in oil.

Wonderful portrait Nancy!, a very positive energy and contentment emanating from this great expressive work! FL

Lou did have lots of energy....I worked from a photo but I did catch a bit of his spirit!

Love this portrait, Nancy....He looks very sweet, but maybe a bit mischievous too???......fv

He could be mischievous. Covering baseball all of those years, and before that basketball. He had a huge career.

F/L I really like this:>) His sparkling eyes and warm smile make him so real.

He was quite the sportswriter, working for the Milwaukee Sentinel and received many awards. Both of his sons (one my husband, Richard) became writers too.
