I have found that paper from the grocery store...that brown slick coated paper they use here to wrap fish...is also quite a light catcher...especially great for tempera and gouache. I love taking these chances.

Well, I can see that I have commented these roses before, had forgotten. Funny, the floating sensation I had there too. I saw you mentioned golden paper as background. The golden makes magic!

The transparency of the background makes these roses float free in the air, so beautiiful!

I was so surprised with this effect! It's simple tempera...but the gold paper! Ooo la la.

The color, ambient light and your lovely soft touch really brings these lovely roses to life Nancy....

I used a gold paper stock so I had built in lighting once the sun hit the paper! And where the sun didn't strike it, a lovely brown. Who knew?

They're beautiful Nancy! l/f!

Thanks, Meg. My father always purchased Easter corsages for his 4 girls (three daughters and Mom) and I can still remember them in the refrigerator in cellophane bags with those wonderful pins included.) Ah, Easter. Mom got gardenias and ours were carnations.

Yes, floating was the first thought coming in my mind when I looked at this rose beauty! Love the light behind!

I used a gold paper stock and then when I photographed it, allowed the light from the window to create the shine. And even the deep brown.
