Description
A moment in time to consider if we really think we can DIG our ways out of an energy crisis.
Black hills of coal line the landscape, so heavy to move, so cumbersome, so toxic. So destructive to the land, the streams, the people.

Many thanks Jim for showcasing "Big Coal" as a feature in WHAT Interrobang 1. This is certainly an issue I am most concerned about and one that needs all of our attention.

Thanks so very much, Joanna for this feature in All About Nature. I am so honored to have this extra notice for my art.

Nancy, this is a powerful statement, brilliantly executed! I must see the gallery you mentioned below of 'art pleadings' concerning the environment. l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
So happy you found my other work. I've been at this for some time now and know that lots of people have visited these "pleadings". Thanks so much Elizabeth for this wonderful comment.

Great work with a message, love this! l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Felix. There were several versions. This one seems to contain my anger. Some tended to be too "pretty".

You've captured the blight on the environment very well. We conservationists in Queensland are fighting a huge new coal development in central Queensland by an Indian Company Andani which has a very bad record. Not only does it destroy this area, provide coal to boost global warming but puts the Great Barrier Reef at risk. The government wants it for jobs . The problem is governments only want to deal with the short term and ignore disastrous long term effects which they simply do not care about. Oh dear! on my hobby horse....sorry f/l
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I am very passionate about this subject. I've got a little gallery entitled Environmental Concerns and there are more of these art pleadings.

We're back to this ridiculous discussion again....and I'm so disappointed.
