I love the city of Pittsburgh, the rivers creating almost an island city, wonderful hills and neighborhoods, colleges and museums, a feeling of being hemmed in until you ascend a mountain on a funicular...who has funiculars?...Pittsburgh. This is just one of a few more I'll do to show my caring for this great city. I need some bridges!!!
I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I'm delighted you chose this one for a feature in "Digital Art". It's my latest and of course I'm still in awe at all one can do in computer land ....it's a great feeling to make whole cities from tiny bits of colored lights! Thanks so much, Lori.

I'm delighted, John to have my imaginary Pittsburgh featured in Images That Excite You. I transformed an acrylic abstract into a river valley and city and suddenly it looked familiar. Not completely like Pittsburgh...and I can keep working on it, but quite a joy to make this digital landscape. I'm honored to have this feature.
Meg Shearer
This is marvelous Nancy! I love the patterns and tones and energy! Beautiful work! l/f!

Mary Machare
I love the complexity of this. Fascinating and fabulous work! LF
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Now I should try St. Louis. If I do these in an expert fashion ...they might be good sales materials. Remembering Tiebaud's fabulous San Francisco streets!!
Denise Clark
Really like this Nancy...it feels like a green city much like Brisbane...l/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I'm not sure anyone from Pittsburgh would recognize this abstract.....that's why I said it was my "feeling". Thanks Denise.
