So happy to have your response. I am so glad you enjoy my abstract work. It's always a question I ask myself when I post them!

Wonderful work, Nancy! This is much like the aerial view of an approaching city as seen from an aircraft window, before we land! Love it! F/Pin

Many thanks, Uma for this nice comment! Pittsburgh is a wonderful city and I have many memories of my visits there!

I love this! v/f/feature!!

So happy you found my Pittsburgh. I'm hoping to revisit this image and go one better...a few signature buildings, and of course more bridges.

In the meantime, big thanks for featuring my city digital, Lenore. I'm so proud to have this honor and pleased too!

Congratulations on your feature in Digital Art

I'm delighted you chose this one for a feature in "Digital Art". It's my latest and of course I'm still in awe at all one can do in computer land ....it's a great feeling to make whole cities from tiny bits of colored lights! Thanks so much, Lori.

I'm delighted, John to have my imaginary Pittsburgh featured in Images That Excite You. I transformed an acrylic abstract into a river valley and city and suddenly it looked familiar. Not completely like Pittsburgh...and I can keep working on it, but quite a joy to make this digital landscape. I'm honored to have this feature.

This is marvelous Nancy! I love the patterns and tones and energy! Beautiful work! l/f!

I really love this city and it was only after I created this pattern that I realized that it reminded me of it.

I love the complexity of this. Fascinating and fabulous work! LF

Now I should try St. Louis. If I do these in an expert fashion ...they might be good sales materials. Remembering Tiebaud's fabulous San Francisco streets!!

Really like this Nancy...it feels like a green city much like Brisbane...l/f

I'm not sure anyone from Pittsburgh would recognize this abstract.....that's why I said it was my "feeling". Thanks Denise.

Great creative work, Nancy! :)) L/F ♥

This was so fun to do....now I have honor the structure of Pittsburgh and add bridges! And maybe a significant building or two!

Artist's Description

I love the city of Pittsburgh, the rivers creating almost an island city, wonderful hills and neighborhoods, colleges and museums, a feeling of being hemmed in until you ascend a mountain on a funicular...who has funiculars?...Pittsburgh. This is just one of a few more I'll do to show my caring for this great city. I need some bridges!!!

About Nancy Kane Chapman

Nancy Kane Chapman

I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings. Picasa effects allow me to...
