Description
We almost overlooked this cleverly colored caterpillar, so gently making a ring around this daisy.
For all of my nature lovers, this was quite the capture. Sharing this phenomenon, Nancy Kane Chapman.

I thought it was a sunflower, but a kind of distorted sunflower... Fascinating find! l/f!

Very interesting Nancy...at first look, I thought it was a mutant daisy...glad I looked harder . Funnily enough last night a question was asked on a quiz show...what was the flower emblem of the United States and I thought it would be one of the native daises but it was (as you know) a rose...how strange. l/f

I don't think I've ever seen such a great job of an insect camouflaging itself!! I had to look twice myself. Am trying to figure out what the butterfly will look like. I may send this photo to our butterfly center.

So pretty daisy and caterpillar, great capture! l/f

Now I'm trying to figure out what the moth or butterfly will be. Hard to tell from my research so far.

Very cool capture, Nancy!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
So interesting to see the color just the same as the center of the daisy. I had to look twice to believe it.
