Description
This painting was one of my first sales, purchased at the six day group show at The Workhouse, our five woman cooperative workspace. In 1979. In North Hollywood, CA. I wasn't present when the sale happened when the nine year old girl convinced her mom to buy two of my paintings...the second one a tightly realized triple cactus, each spine so clearly delineated. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of that one...but luckily I found a Kodak slide of Cosmos!!! Wow. What a trip back in time this is....!!!

Many thanks Stefano for this feature in 10 Plus. It's so nice to have this extra showcase for my popular art.

Many thanks, Lenore for featuring "Cosmos" in Old MASTERS - Paintings and Traditional Arts. It's always an honor to be noticed and have this extra showcase. Especially with this watercolor which was sold in 1979 and only recently rediscovered as a Kodak slide! It's great to have it back in view! I missed it.

The sale happened in 1979. I just found a slide which I took of the painting....and was able to rephotograph it.

Beautiful, Nancy. Light and joyful. lf
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, I'ina. I was staring at a wonderful wildflower book, a photo by Alfred Eisenstaedt....as I painted it.

This is so beautiful Nancy! I love it! l/f!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Meg. It is instructive to see a painting done so long ago. I notice it was the year before my daughter was born.
Sarah Loft
Beautiful!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks so much, Sarah. I matted and framed it myself....so different for FAA.

How very lovely, Nancy! I love your trip back in time; I adore the fanciful style and pastel colors of this painting--the epitome of spring! l/f

So happy you found my treasure. I really thought I had lost it ...and now to see it again is really very special. I'm going to order some cards for myself!! Thanks, Elizabeth.
