Gorgeous work!

Thanks, John. I had quite a magnolia "period"...always beginning with a real one, never painting from a photograph. We lived in California then.

Man, this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!! I would live this in a wallpaper, for a sitting room!!!!! l/f

Well, this clearly makes my day wonderful!! Thank you for this lovely compliment. If I were younger I surely would have enjoyed designing wallpapers.

Love the subtlety and textures of this painting! Absolutely beautiful! Instant v/f

This is the only magnolia I repeated. I really like the lyrical feel of this one. I think there are three different versions.

Nancy I am thanking you for all the humbling comments. You made me happy. A little better, today. Now your watercolor. This takes my imagination to a Ballet flower bowing at the end of a recital. The lightness represents fragile and the soft beauty of ballerinas. You showed me a correlation between flowers and ballerina's. I love this tons. Hugs,Marsha FV Thanks again for all the comments !!!!

So happy you are better. I sometimes feel that we are an art family and I love the way our comments to each other give us so much wisdom and warmth! Thank you....! These magnolias were so important to me for several years and my many moods are there to be found. I took ballet as a child...and even had toe shoes....

An amazing watercolor, love your gallery of magnolia! The texture to this work is amazing! FV

Thank you so much Angela. I think you can understand now how much I could appreciate your watercolors. They are special and I do need to return to them very soon. I can still see you pitcher with lemonade!!!

I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings. Picasa effects allow me to...
