I began my love for art by watching my mother paint in oils and pastels. I must have caught the bug because I have enjoyed fifty years of drawing, painting and photography, urged on and instructed by professors, a botanist, a master of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, water colorists and lately, mixed media devotees. After a course in cubism in 1973 I began to explore pen and ink geometric art. Each stroke was unplanned but exact, the designs becoming more elaborate and more fun to execute. First circles, then onward to straight lines, then organic and architectural constructions. Thirty years later I still dance out on the white space of a simple sheet of paper to weave new drawings. The crystal is actually brown....and I used the negative option on the computer because the blue really showed the structure and was so beautiful! What tricks the computers can do.

Thanks Anne-Elizabeth. I really should put my notes in the Description but I'm happy you found it in Tags. I learned about the negative option for my geometric art and so this was a new application. It's fun to see what colors will become in their negative presentation. Isn't the computer interesting for artists?

Thank you, Jack for this good comment. This is a crystal (brown) which I photographed posed on an abstract painting and then with the computer I reversed it to negative color and voila. This beautiful blue.
