Again, the crinkled paper before painting provides beautiful planes to catch the light and create the feeling of geology. Perfect snow scene for a poster.

Beautiful, Nancy! L/F
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Sarah. I was so involved in this project just a year ago. It's good to remember and I should try some new ones with the same technique!

I love how creative you are! To crinkle the paper and use that depth as part of your image!....brilliant! This is really cool!.....fv
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Karen. I took a suggestion from a modern Chinese artist....Wang Chi-ch'sen and I was so surprised with this good result.

Fantastic!
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I was fascinated with this new technique! Now I'm wondering if I could create flowers this way or other landscapes. I'll try...

Nancy, this scene does look just like the snow on a mountain, you have such a great imagination to come up with these incredible works. I have a question. I noticed that there is a lot of color noise in the image, is that in the crinkled paper or added in post?
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
All of the gray shapes are ink. The smooth gray planes are from the crinkling. I took the photo in natural light (sitting on the dining room table)....I didn't really do much "post"...just sharpened up the image. I was just amazed at what the creases did. I did not use rice paper...I used a vellum like paper. There are no rules...!!
