Feather finds these tiny mice and they play for hours. No bodies discovered so the mouse always gets away unharmed. Not so with moles.

So amazing, what a capture and story!!! LF
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
We're now faced with winter and she's still up for going out when it's only 36 degrees. Brrrr....She still hunts moles and enjoys riding on my tarp when I rake leaves. Quite the companion!

Nancy we have a cat that will lie under the bird feeder and the birds will walk all around him and he doesn`t seem to care..it`s almost like there old friends. Never could figure it out.
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Cats are wonderful. Today Feather had a bunny in her mouth, brought it to the back porch, unhurt, had some really good chases with it and then let it go. Same with a chipmunk two weeks ago. I think she'd like another cat to play with....!!!

It doesn`t get any sweeter than this. An awesome one in a million shot. A great shot Nancy
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Feather is such a great cat...but totally unique. If she catches a mole (and she does) we see her carrying it across the street to our back yard for the full play and "kill". She lets the mice go....can't figure it out, but it's interesting. She's quite a good hunter.

Wow! What a great shot! v/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Most animals don't let you near when they hunt...or catch something. These guys...they posed for the camera. I must have 10 shots!!

Nancy, what a connection. This is an unusual and delightful image. It's funny that they play together LF
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Well, I must admit I did find one now who did not survive the playtime. Don't think I can compliment my kitty on being so gentle!!
Byron Varvarigos
How delightful! LF
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I have seen her play with such gentleness and grace with these tiny mice...and they always escape unharmed. Is she lonely? I've never enjoyed this behavior before.

Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Feather Is quite the naturalist. A very fun cat and she doesn't mind at all that I'm there with my camera.

...so lovely :) Great shot! Like
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Neither cat nor mouse minded that they were the objects of a photo shoot! I took four or five pictures....this one the best.

Nancy, this is just such a precious combo of pure beauty in this one of a kind masterpiece. Love the elements and composition! LIKED and FAVED
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thank you, Randy. She and the mouse (or mice...surely not the same mouse) don't mind posing for pix. This is not the first session I've had which I find amazing.
Sharon Burger
this is just too sweet.. they relate somehow.. adorable...v/f
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Indeed, this mouse didn't even run...well, maybe they know better.... still to play that long together and still not be at all injured. I've never seen anything like it.
Michael Creese
that's great that they are friends. i hope :)
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I'm just an observer. This is truly not natural. Now, moles....they don't stand a chance.
