Another Gothic

Thanks so much CJ for your praise. For several years I played with becoming a political cartoonist, copying many portraits, going for likeness in many mediums. Copying New Yorker cartoons too. I see my efforts reflected in this Gothic!

People are intense...and behind the flashing smile is so much more. I spent years drawing faces....little by little I'll add some more.

I agree....there's a story in there, held tight! Gothic...for certain.

This was so special because I have so few watercolor portraits. I promised myself that I'd do one a week....but...but....!!

Thanks so much. My dream is to paint an oil portrait of my daughter. I'll have to take a class or two to get up to speed with oils.

I tried several watercolor portraits.....I should have continued. When I see your expressive faces....I really send up a cheer for your continued exploration of this genre!

I did this from a photo of my daughter, giving it the Gothic feeling of Woods. She actually likes it and gave me permission to post it.
