Many thanks, Stefano for this feature in 10 Plus. It's wonderful to have an extra showcase to display works which are tucked deep in time but not forgotten.

I can still remember this lovely fish pond and the beautiful patio where the cat and I spent so many nice hours. I think my love for this space is still here in this watercolor.

This is fabulous, Nancy. I'm so glad Sherri shared it on FB! L/F
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thank you, Sarah. This lily pond was actually in the backyard of a home we rented in Pasadena. It came with lovely orange fish and our cat would sit and watch them for whole afternoons. Now that's the picture I should paint. (I do have reference photos!!!)
Lori Moon
Congratulations on your feature in Black Background and Color
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
I am so honored Lori to have my Lily Pond featured in Black Background and Color. I had almost forgotten that I had painted the water black. It's wonderful with green. Thank you for this great notice.

Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
This pond was in our backyard and our cat sat there endlessly watching the gold fish swim by. I always hoped I would do a watercolor of that scene as I have many photos for reference.

We lived in Pasadena, the lily pond in the back patio, lovely orange fish swimming by in the black waters.....hours spent and only one real watercolor to show for the glory of this continued experience. I miss that pond!

A gorgeous work of art Nancy. Gold medal winner all the way....Dave
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
Thanks, Dave. We actually had this very pond on our patio when we lived in California so I had plenty of time to inspect the leaves and flowers.....and there were fish, too. You are so kind with your praise.

Thank you so much, Greta for featuring "A Lily Pond" in The Magic of Flowers group. What a honor. It was so nice to discover that you had grouped all of the lilies in a pond of their own! So nice to see them all together!

A beautiful natural liliy painting Nancy, looks so pretty (f/v)
Nancy Kane Chapman replied:
This is in my "dedicated" period when I worked slowly and layered each wash to create the realism I was after. I'm much quicker now...and the work is different entirely. Happy you like this!
